Dual-use structure

Personal use is open. Professional and institutional deployment is licensed.

The distinction protects public access to the knowledge while preserving authorship and accountability when the framework is used commercially or to shape institutional decisions.

Open use

Individual and personal

Readers may study DDS and apply it for personal, relational, educational, exploratory, or civic understanding. They may use it to reflect on private decisions, relationships, and community issues, and may upload portions of the book into an AI for personal problem-solving.

Restrictions

Commercial and organizational

An active license is required when DDS generates revenue, supports paid professional services, influences public policy or institutional decision-making, or powers software, applications, platforms, or AI services.

Authorship

Keep the source visible.

The work may not be resold, claimed as another party’s original framework, or represented as proprietary to someone other than its creator.

Inquiries

Arrange the right use.

Questions about professional, commercial, organizational, training, facilitation, platform, or public-policy use can be directed to William.

Scope and limits

DDS clarifies structure. It does not replace accountable expertise.

Domain-specific judgment remains the responsibility of the people using and implementing the work.

01

Clinical

DDS is not psychotherapy and is not primary support for acute mental health crises, suicidal ideation, psychosis, or severe trauma.

02

Medical and legal

The method does not replace diagnosis, medical care, legal counsel, or the duties held by licensed professionals.

03

Financial and technical

Financial, engineering, safety-critical, and implementation claims require qualified review in the actual context.

04

AI-mediated use

AI systems do not possess empathy, moral agency, or professional responsibility. Their outputs are proposals, not decisions.

Ethical use

The framework cannot absolve the user of consequence.

Using the language of complexity does not make a design ethical. The method’s safeguards must remain active.

Responsible use

Make the structure honest.

Frame the problem transparently, represent trade-offs accurately, acknowledge costs and constraints, assess capacity, and halt when the risk of harm increases.

Prohibited use

Do not use dialectics to conceal power.

DDS may not be used to justify harm, mask self-interest, override consent, suppress dissent, or borrow legitimacy while refusing the framework’s constraints.

Data privacy

Third-party AI systems carry their own terms.

Do not enter information into an AI environment that is not appropriate for that information.

Users should avoid personally identifiable information, medical records, and sensitive legal or financial data unless they are working inside a secure environment whose privacy and data-handling rules they understand.

Any future DDS platform is intended to keep user ownership, explicit sharing, and a prohibition on data resale as structural commitments. New platform layers will require additional published terms before they launch.

Liability and governing law

DDS guarantees structure, not results.

DDS and its associated materials are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author and affiliated entities disclaim liability for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use. Users assume the risks associated with applying the framework. No outcome, acceptance, or success is guaranteed.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States. Direct resolution is encouraged, mediation is preferred, and formal legal proceedings are treated as a last resort.

By engaging with DDS through the book, manual, Engine, or a platform implementation, users acknowledge these legal and ethical protocols.
